Corn Slipping Back at Thursday’s Midday
Corn futures are fading back on Thursday, with contracts 2 to 3 cents lower so far at midday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is back down 2 3/4 cents at $4.82 1/4.
Export Sales data from this morning showed 31,220 MT of old crop corn for the week of 31,220 MT, which was within estimates of net reductions of 200,000 MT to net sales of 400,000 MT in the week ending on August 20. That was a marketing year low. New crop bookings were tallied at 1.066 MMT, which was in the middle of the expected range of 0.6-1.6 MMT in that week. That was a marketing year high for new crop bookings.
