Indian Equities Test Critical Support as Corporates Navigate Margin Pressures

The Nifty index is testing a crucial technical support level near 24,000, even as major Indian companies announce price hikes, large capital raises, and strategic infrastructure wins that will shape sectoral investor sentiment.

Indian equity markets are hovering at a decisive technical juncture, with the Nifty index finding support near the 24,000 to 24,050 zone after filling a daily timeframe gap. This level coincides with the 61.8 percent Fibonacci retracement, making it a critical threshold for near-term market direction.

Rupak De, a senior technical analyst at LKP Securities, noted that holding this zone could trigger a meaningful recovery for the benchmark. Conversely, a failure to sustain trading above 24,000 may accelerate bearish momentum, prompting analysts to advise strict stop-losses for long positions.

Against this volatile backdrop, corporate earnings visibility remains a priority for investors. Hyundai Motor India announced it will raise vehicle prices by up to 1 percent across its portfolio starting in September 2026. The automaker cited escalating input and commodity costs, alongside broader macroeconomic uncertainties, as the primary drivers for the revision.

In market infrastructure developments, the Bombay Stock Exchange is moving to deepen its derivative offerings. BSE has signed an agreement with MSCI to explore launching futures and options contracts linked to MSCI indexes in India, pending regulatory clearance.

Corporate activity also highlighted significant capital allocation and order book expansions. Ceigall India’s joint ventures secured five Letters of Acceptance from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for road construction in Arunachal Pradesh, carrying a combined bid cost of ₹2,423.70 crore.

Meanwhile, Aditya Infotech’s board approved a fundraising initiative of up to ₹1,500 crore. The company plans to issue securities through public offerings, qualified institutional placements, or a combination of both, subject to necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Several other firms announced material structural or regulatory updates. HEG received National Company Law Tribunal approval for a composite scheme of arrangement involving HEG Graphite and Bhilwara Energy.

On the regulatory front, JSW Dulux disclosed a show-cause notice regarding the disallowance of input tax credit totaling ₹1.84 crore for the 2022-2023 fiscal period. In the technology sector, Hexaware Technologies introduced a new cybersecurity offering titled Zero Vulnerability to help enterprises manage finite engineering capacity against rapidly surfacing security threats.
