A new e-hailing service is set to commence operations in Abuja on October 1, targeting 1,000 drivers with electric vehicles as it enters Nigeria’s growing digital transportation market.

The platform, developed by PromiseLand Innovations Limited, is designed to promote electric mobility while providing an alternative to conventional petrol-powered transportation.

The company said the service will initially operate in Abuja before expanding to other parts of Nigeria, with longer-term plans to take the platform beyond the country.

Lawrence Oloche, chief executive officer of PromiseLand Innovations Limited, had earlier announced plans to empower 1,000 families with brand-new electric vehicles under the initiative.

According to a statement by the firm, the scheme is expected to create employment and income opportunities for Nigerians, particularly men and women who can drive and are interested in participating in the emerging electric mobility sector.

According to the company, prospective drivers will be required to register for consideration and undergo screening, verification and onboarding before participating in the scheme.

The initiative will provide eligible drivers with access to vehicles and a digital platform through which they can offer transportation services and earn income.

The company said the use of rechargeable electric vehicles is intended to reduce dependence on petrol-powered vehicles while helping drivers manage transportation operating costs amid changes in global energy prices.

“Passengers will be able to book rides, access trip information and make payments through a mobile application designed for Android and iPhone users.

“The platform is also expected to provide driver verification, real-time trip tracking, ratings and reviews, as well as location-sharing features aimed at improving transparency and passenger safety.

“Drivers will have flexible working schedules, allowing them to determine their availability while earning through the platform,” the statement read

PromiseLand Innovations said the initiative forms part of its broader focus on technology-driven services, sustainable mobility and economic empowerment.

The company, which also has interests in real estate development through PromiseLand Estate, is expanding into the transportation and e-hailing sector with the Abuja launch.

The October 1 commencement will mark the company’s entry into Nigeria’s e-hailing market, with the service positioned around electric mobility, affordable transportation and job creation.

The company said it also plans to expand the platform across Nigeria and eventually into other African markets as it seeks to support the adoption of cleaner transportation solutions.
