Aditya Infotech plans ₹1,500 crore fundraise to expand surveillance manufacturing capacity

Aditya Infotech is raising ₹1,500 crore to expand manufacturing capacity, aiming to capitalize on regulatory shifts that have weakened foreign competitors in India’s surveillance market despite near-term margin pressures.

Aditya Infotech is pursuing a ₹1,500 crore qualified institutional placement to expand its manufacturing footprint. The move comes as the company currently operates at 85 to 90 percent capacity utilization, seeking to improve revenue visibility amid sustained demand for its security products.

This expansion plan follows a sequential dip in recent profitability. For the June quarter, the company reported a nearly 16 percent drop in net profit and a 330 basis point contraction in its Ebitda margin.

Management attributes this compression to elevated electronic component prices. With imports accounting for roughly 60 percent of its sourcing mix, the company faces a challenging cost environment. Despite this, it has maintained its FY27 Ebitda margin guidance of 14 to 15 percent.

The long-term growth thesis remains intact, driven by India’s Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification norms that took effect in April 2025. These regulations restricted the sale of internet protocol-driven surveillance products from non-compliant Chinese manufacturers.

As a result, the market share of large global firms that failed to meet the new standards dropped to over 16 percent in FY26, down from 27 percent the previous year. This regulatory shift has significantly expanded the addressable market for domestic manufacturers like Aditya, whose portfolio includes cameras, video recorders, and biometric access controls.

Investors have heavily priced in this structural advantage over the past year. The stock has surged 128 percent in 2026, pushing its market capitalization to ₹41,124 crore as of Friday, up from ₹7,900 crore at its initial public offering last July.

This rapid appreciation has expanded the company’s price-earnings multiple to 86, up from 68 at the time of listing. Such lofty valuations have made investors highly sensitive to sequential earnings fluctuations, triggering a recent share price decline after the June quarter results were published.

Market analysts remain constructive on the stock’s trajectory following the fundraise announcement. Analysts have reiterated a buy rating, projecting a 10 to 20 percent upside from Friday’s closing price of ₹3,476.3.
