TIM Fund Backs Brazil's $1.2bn Legal AI Unicorn Enter

TIM Brasil's venture fund has backed $1.2bn legal-AI startup Enter, signaling how non-tech corporates are deploying capital into enterprise AI to slash operational costs from Brazil's congested judicial system.

A venture capital fund linked to Brazilian mobile operator TIM Brasil has invested in Enter, a São Paulo-based legal-AI startup that secured a $1.2 billion valuation in May 2026. The funding, sourced from TIM's $50 million 5G-focused investment vehicle, was part of a broader round exceeding $100 million led by San Francisco-based Founders Fund. The exact size of TIM's allocation remains undisclosed.

Enter develops artificial intelligence agents designed to automate corporate legal defense, specifically targeting consumer disputes and labor claims. The software analyzes incoming lawsuits, detects patterns in predatory litigation, and generates legal recommendations for in-house teams. The platform addresses a massive operational bottleneck in Brazil, where the National Council of Justice reported more than 80 million pending cases in 2025.

While a mobile carrier backing legal software might seem unusual, the strategic logic is rooted in direct cost savings. Brazilian telecom operators routinely manage tens of thousands of consumer lawsuits annually related to billing and service quality. For TIM, deploying Enter's technology internally could reduce legal operating expenses by double-digit percentages by eliminating the manual hours required for initial case triage.

The investment also opens a commercial distribution channel. TIM already provides connectivity and cloud services to large corporate clients, and adding AI-powered legal automation could deepen those enterprise relationships. By routing the investment through a fund structured with Brazilian innovation platform Upload, TIM avoids the overhead of a dedicated corporate venture arm while still securing access to startup technology.

For market participants, the deal highlights the growing appeal of enterprise AI in emerging markets, particularly where regulatory environments create heavy administrative burdens. Consumer protection and labor laws in Brazil have given rise to specialized law firms filing mass claims. Enter's ability to filter fraudulent litigation from legitimate grievances has attracted significant venture capital, with the sector pulling record funding in 2025 and early 2026.

Enter's latest round blended Silicon Valley capital with prominent Latin American investors, including Sequoia Capital, Ribbit Capital, Kaszek, Atlantico, and ONEVC. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand beyond consumer and labor law into tax litigation and regulatory compliance, with international expansion targeted at Mexico and Colombia.
