FIIs cut stake in 12 smallcap stocks over 2 quarters; shares fall up to 50% in CY26

Investors closely track FII activity for clues about foreign investor sentiment. While stocks witnessing increased FII ownership often attract attention, sustained selling can also provide useful insights. In the Nifty Smallcap 250 universe, FIIs reduced their holdings in around 92 small-cap companies during the March 2026 and June 2026 quarters, based on shareholding data. Looking at stock performance in calendar year 2026 so far, more than half of these companies have delivered negative returns.
