Trump Media to sell millisecond Truth Social feed to traders

Trump Media & Technology Group is launching a paid, high-speed data feed for algorithmic traders to capture market-moving posts, creating a new revenue stream that raises fresh ethical questions about monetising the presidency.

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) will launch a paid service giving financial institutions direct, machine-readable access to posts from its Truth Social platform. The product, dubbed Truth API, is designed to deliver content from the network’s “most influential accounts” to high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms in milliseconds. The service is scheduled to go live on 1 August 2026.

By replacing manual monitoring with automated data ingestion, the feed allows institutional investors to act on information affecting stocks, bonds, and interest rates with minimal latency. High-frequency trading firms rely on receiving such information as quickly as possible to gain an edge. TMTG noted that “markets already move on Truth Social posts” and described the API as a conduit for the platform’s “most market-moving Truths,” adding that it has already signed up customers and is onboarding additional partners.

While TMTG did not explicitly confirm that US President Donald Trump’s account is included in the paid feed, he is the platform’s most prominent user and the largest shareholder in its publicly traded parent company. Truth Social has become Trump’s primary channel for major policy and economic announcements. TMTG clarified that subscribers will not receive posts before they appear to the general public.

The business model mirrors data-access products offered by other social networks, such as X, which also charge for direct programmatic access to their content. However, selling high-speed access to a sitting president's statements introduces distinct conflicts of interest. It provides TMTG with a direct mechanism to monetise the market volatility generated by its majority owner's political office, raising fresh questions about the intersection of Trump's presidency and his business interests.

Truth API will operate continuously, 24 hours a day. Subscribers will also gain access to a historical archive of platform posts dating back to 2022.
