Jonjua Overseas sets September 4 record date for 7:24 bonus share issue
Indian micro-cap Jonjua Overseas has scheduled a 7:24 bonus share issuance for early September, a corporate action that comes amid recent short-term price gains but significant long-term declines for the sub-₹10 stock.
Jonjua Overseas has fixed September 4, 2026, as the record date for its upcoming 7:24 bonus share issue. Shareholders on the register by this date will be eligible to receive seven additional shares for every 24 they currently hold, pending necessary regulatory approvals.
According to an August 24 exchange filing, the company plans to issue a total of 7,955,966 bonus equity shares. The deemed date of allotment is set for September 7, with the new shares expected to become available for trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange by September 8.
The company noted that this timeline remains subject to in-principle approval from the BSE. "Pursuant to Regulation 42 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, this is to inform that the Company has fixed the 'Record Date' as Friday, 04-September-2026," the filing stated. It added that depository crediting will be completed by 12 pm on the allotment date.
For investors, it is critical to note that bonus issues do not automatically increase the overall value of an investment or the company's underlying fundamentals. The stock price is typically adjusted downward proportionally to reflect the expanded share count, leaving the total market capitalization unchanged on the ex-date.
The corporate action arrives as the sub-₹10 stock experiences heightened short-term volatility alongside a persistent long-term downtrend. While the share price has gained 9 percent over the past month, 15 percent over three months, and 25 percent over six months, it remains down 49 percent over the last year. Furthermore, the stock has shed 47 percent of its value over the past five years.
Historical trading data illustrates this broader decline, showing the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹8.31 in September of last year before falling to a 52-week low of ₹2.50 in March 2026. Market participants will be watching closely to see if the bonus announcement sustains recent short-term momentum or merely triggers a standard mechanical price adjustment.
