Madonna Confessions II Drives Notable U.K. Purchase Sales

Madonna’s latest album is converting chart traction into direct-to-consumer purchases in the U.K., yielding some of the highest pure sales rankings of her career.

Madonna’s new album Confessions II is generating notable direct-to-consumer sales in the U.K. market, with the latest single "Danceteria" debuting at No. 3 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts. The track marks the second-highest debut of the week, surpassed only by Take That's "Sweet July" at No. 2 and "Move Into the Sun" by Hugel, Imael Angel and Ultra Naté at No. 1.

Half of Madonna’s six top 10 placements on the purchase-only Official Singles Sales chart are derived from this album. "Danceteria" stands as her highest-ranking sales hit from the project, outpacing "Bring Your Love" with Sabrina Carpenter, which peaked at No. 4, and "Love Sensation," which reached No. 5.

On the Official Singles Downloads chart, four tracks from Confessions II have reached the top five. "Danceteria" becomes Madonna's eleventh top 10 on this tally, joining "I Feel So Free," "Bring Your Love," and "Love Sensation." A fifth album cut, "Bizarre," a collaboration with producer Martin Garrix, also entered the purchase-focused charts, landing at No. 58 on downloads and No. 65 on sales.

While purchase metrics indicate strong superfan spending, broader consumption tells a different story. "Danceteria" opened at No. 38 on the Official Singles chart, which combines sales and streaming data. This marks Madonna's 85th hit on the comprehensive roster, bringing her total to 36 placements on the sales chart and 44 on the downloads chart.

The release strategy for Confessions II featured multiple high-profile collaborations. The campaign included Sabrina Carpenter on "Bring Your Love" and Latin artist Feid on "Read My Lips." By translating early chart traction into sustained purchase activity across multiple tracks, the album has yielded some of the strongest pure sales results of Madonna's recent career.
