Milky Mist Dairy Food lists in India following 56-times oversubscribed 1,553 crore rupee IPO
The packaged dairy company begins trading today after its initial public offering attracted substantial institutional demand, signaling strong investor appetite for India’s expanding value-added food sector.
Milky Mist Dairy Food Ltd. makes its market debut today following a 1,553 crore rupee initial public offering priced at the upper end of its band. The shares were issued at 140 rupees each, reflecting robust pre-listing demand and a grey market premium signaling a 14 percent listing gain.
Investor appetite for the offering was overwhelming, with the public issue subscribed 56.12 times overall during its August 11 to 13 subscription window. Qualified institutional buyers drove the surge, subscribing their portion 155.83 times, while non-institutional and retail categories subscribed 34.91 times and 8.41 times respectively.
Ahead of the public issue, the company secured 465.29 crore rupees from 19 anchor investors at the maximum price of 140 rupees per share. The offering comprised a fresh issue of 1,428 crore rupees and an offer for sale of 125 crore rupees, with JM Financial Ltd. acting as the book-running lead manager and Kfin Technologies Ltd. as registrar.
Management plans to deploy the estimated net proceeds of 1,121.41 crore rupees primarily toward balance sheet strengthening and capacity expansion. Specifically, 496.86 crore rupees will be allocated to repay or prepay outstanding borrowings, while 469.24 crore rupees will fund capital expenditure to modernize its Perundurai manufacturing facility.
This strong market reception aligns with the company’s recent financial trajectory. For the fiscal year 2026, total income rose 34 percent year-on-year to 3,145.01 crore rupees, up from 2,354.79 crore rupees in FY25. Profit after tax increased 176 percent during the same period, reaching 127.01 crore rupees compared to 46.07 crore rupees previously.
The listing highlights growing investor confidence in India’s integrated farm-to-consumer food businesses. Incorporated in July 2014, Milky Mist operates an automated, technology-driven manufacturing model supported by an in-house cold-chain logistics network.
The company’s diverse portfolio, spanning premium dairy, frozen foods, and ready-to-eat products under multiple sub-brands, positions it to capitalize on shifting domestic consumption patterns. With 1,317 permanent employees, the new capital infusion is expected to accelerate its multi-channel distribution reach across the country.
