Shankesh Jewellers Opens Rs 367 Crore IPO as Profit Surge Offsets Muted Listing Signals

The manufacturer of handcrafted gold jewellery has launched a Rs 367.18 crore public issue aimed at debt reduction, offering investors a play on long-term B2B growth rather than immediate listing gains.

Shankesh Jewellers Limited has opened its initial public offering for subscription, seeking to raise Rs 367.18 crore through a mix of fresh shares and an offer for sale. The issue is priced at Rs 88 to Rs 93 per share, with allotment scheduled for August 21, 2026, and listing on the NSE and BSE on August 25, 2026.

Early grey market indicators suggest a cautious reception, with shares trading at only a 2 percent premium to the upper price band. This muted premium signals that investors should anticipate a modest or flat listing, shifting the focus toward the company’s underlying fundamentals rather than short-term trading opportunities.

The company intends to deploy the majority of the fresh issue proceeds to strengthen its balance sheet. Specifically, Rs 158 crore will be used to repay or pre-pay existing borrowings, while Rs 38 crore is allocated to working capital requirements to support daily operations.

This debt reduction strategy follows a period of sharp financial expansion for the jeweller. In the fiscal year 2026, total income grew 16 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,630.93 crore, up from Rs 1,403.94 crore in the previous year.

Profitability saw an even more dramatic improvement during the same period. Profit after tax surged 165 percent to Rs 106.68 crore, significantly outpacing revenue growth and highlighting enhanced operational efficiency.

Incorporated in 2005, Shankesh Jewellers operates an asset-light manufacturing model. It relies on skilled local artisans and job workers for production while retaining control over design, material sourcing, and delivery in-house.

The company supplies customized 18-karat and 22-karat handcrafted gold jewellery to a robust B2B clientele. Its customer base includes major industry names such as Kalyan Jewellers India Limited, Joyalukkas India Limited, and P. N. Gadgil & Sons Limited.

Market analysts view the current pricing as reasonable given the company’s trajectory. AnandRathi values the company at approximately 12.8 times its FY26 earnings, assigning a long-term subscribe rating based on its improving profitability and established B2B market position.

For market participants, the IPO represents a strategic bet on the organized B2B jewellery supply chain rather than a quick flip. The combination of a deleveraging balance sheet and surging margins provides a compelling foundation for sustained growth, provided investors are willing to look past the lackluster near-term listing premium.
