Brazil Opens Its Reciprocity Law Against US Tariffs, Clearing a Path to Hit Back

Brazil has opened its reciprocity law against United States tariffs, the first formal step toward possibly retaliating on American goods. The case, handled through the foreign-trade board Camex with the Foreign Ministry seeking talks, answers a 25% US tariff on many Brazilian exports plus a separate 12.5% duty. Nothing has been imposed yet: this is a review, and Brasilia says it prefers negotiation.
