KKR-backed LEAP India lists today after 2,480 crore rupee IPO

The logistics infrastructure provider makes its market debut following strong institutional demand, highlighting investor appetite for India's sustainable supply chain sector.

LEAP India makes its stock market debut today following a public issue that drew 8.38 times overall subscription. The listing concludes an initial public offer that ran from August 7 to August 11, anchored by heavy participation from institutional investors.

Qualified institutional buyers led the demand, subscribing to their portion 16.84 times, while non-institutional investors booked their segment 12.64 times. Retail interest was comparatively muted at 1.71 times, suggesting the offering was largely driven by professional market participants rather than individual traders.

The company fixed its price band between 151 and 159 rupees per share. The transaction comprised a 480 crore rupee fresh issue of 3.02 crore equity shares and an offer for sale of 12.58 crore shares valued at approximately 2,000 crore rupees. JM Financial served as the book-running lead manager, with MUFG Intime India acting as the registrar.

Management intends to allocate 360 crore rupees from the fresh equity sale toward clearing or prepaying specific debt obligations. The remaining capital is earmarked for general corporate purposes, supporting broader expansion plans and operational improvements across its network.

The debut follows a period of rapid financial growth for the logistics infrastructure provider. Total income for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, surged 54 percent year-on-year to 747.36 crore rupees. Profit after tax expanded 66 percent to 62.34 crore rupees, up from 37.56 crore rupees in the previous year.

Founded in 2013, the firm provides reusable packaging and asset-pooling solutions to over 1,000 clients, including Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Marico and Daikin Airconditioning India. It integrates environmental and social principles into its operations, focusing on responsible sourcing and reducing supply chain waste.

The business caters to diverse sectors including fast-moving consumer goods, e-commerce, quick commerce and automotive. Global investment firm KKR acquired a majority stake in 2023 to support this regional expansion. As of March 31, 2026, operations were supported by 419 permanent employees alongside 2,062 material handling equipment operators.
