Chile's tax reform, the overhaul known locally as the megarreforma, has cleared Congress and now awaits the president's signature. It lowers the company tax rate in stages toward 23% by the 2029 tax year, and it opens a one-year window in which buyers of a qualifying new-build home are freed from the 19% value-added tax.
