Lightspeed launches RevPay payments for powersports, RV dealers

Lightspeed has introduced an integrated payments platform called RevPay, a move designed to lock in dealership clients and open new transaction-based revenue streams by eliminating third-party processors.

Lightspeed has launched RevPay, a payment processing system built directly into its dealership management system (DMS). The product targets dealers in the powersports, marine, RV, trailer, and golf car sectors, replacing the fragmented retail payment tools these businesses currently rely on.

Historically, these specialized dealerships have patched together general retail payment processors, standalone terminals, and separate reporting portals. This disconnected approach forces staff into manual data entry, increases the risk of accounting errors, and obscures real-time cash flow visibility for management.

By embedding payments directly into the core DMS, Lightspeed is executing a standard vertical software strategy to increase customer retention and capture payment volume. "Dealerships don't need another payment processor. They need a payment experience that's built into the system they already rely on to run their business," said Brian Provost, CEO of Lightspeed. Consolidating these workflows makes the core software much harder for dealers to replace.

RevPay includes tools designed to accelerate cash collection and drive incremental revenue. RevPay Click allows staff to securely request deposits, service payments, and final balances via text or email. RevPay Gift and Gift Pro let dealers launch physical and digital gift card programs, which generate upfront revenue before products are delivered and encourage repeat visits.

Early adopters report operational gains that directly impact profitability. "The payment process is much smoother for our staff, which saves them time, reduces duplicate data entry and errors, and ultimately helps us operate more efficiently and profitably. It's been a great experience for our team," said Ethan Dysart of Dysart's Powersports.

The rollout provides Lightspeed with a unified product offering backed by its in-house support team. While the company did not disclose specific take rates, the shift represents a clear strategic move from pure software provision toward capturing a share of the financial transactions flowing through its dealer network.
