TC Group appoints Jennie Brown as tax head
TC Group has hired tax veteran Jennie Brown to lead its Northampton office's advisory team, strengthening its capacity for complex corporate restructuring and wealth planning.
TC Group Business Advisors & Accountants has appointed Jennie Brown as director and head of tax advisory, basing her in the firm's Northampton office. The move immediately broadens the company's capacity to handle complex personal and commercial tax matters.
Brown brings more than 20 years of experience to the role. For corporate executives and market professionals, her specific focus areas indicate where TC Group is expanding its advisory capabilities. She will drive the firm's corporate advisory offering, targeting business owners executing group restructures, management buyouts, and employee ownership trusts.
These areas represent critical junctures for private companies. For owner-managed businesses exploring employee ownership trusts as an exit route, or those navigating management buyouts, Brown’s expertise in structuring these transitions provides TC Group with a more comprehensive transaction support suite.
The hire also addresses the personal wealth complexities that intersect with corporate transactions. Brown will advise on trusts, inheritance tax, and long-term asset protection. Because the personal and corporate tax affairs of business owners are frequently linked, having advisory coordination across these domains is essential for effective wealth planning.
Additionally, Brown recently completed an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation. This qualification broadens the firm's ability to support clients dealing with international tax issues. Her credentials as an Association of Taxation Technicians member and chartered tax adviser underpin this full scope of advisory work.
"It is such an exciting time to be joining TC Group," Brown said. "What attracted me was the firm's commitment to putting relationships first and delivering advice that genuinely helps clients achieve their goals. Every client, family and business is different, so it is important to take the time to understand their priorities and challenges."
Debbie Ince, director and head of tax at TC SEM, outlined the strategic rationale behind the hire. "We are so pleased Jennie's joined us," Ince said. "Her appointment significantly strengthens our corporate tax advisory capabilities and adds further depth to the specialist support we can offer our clients. Jennie brings extensive experience helping businesses navigate restructuring projects, succession planning and ownership transitions, while also adding valuable expertise in SDLT and other complex advisory areas."
By expanding its senior tax leadership to cover shareholder tax planning, complex ownership transitions, and international tax, TC Group is positioning itself to handle intricate mandates. For investors evaluating mid-market companies, the availability of robust tax structuring is a necessary component of successful deal execution.
