IRDAI asks insurers to fast-track Assam flood claims

Insurers must expedite flood claim settlements for affected policyholders. The regulator has directed immediate deployment of surveyors and loss assessors. Special district-level claims desks and 24x7 helplines will be established. Electronic communication is encouraged to speed up claim registration and payments. This directive follows heavy rains and floods which began on July 19.
