Divi's Labs Q1 profit surges 66% as operating leverage expands

Divi's Labs reported a 66% jump in first-quarter net profit as revenue growth significantly outpaced a modest rise in expenses, though the stock's recent 23% monthly rally may limit further upside.

Divi's Labs posted net profit of Rs 902 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. This represents a 66% increase from the year-ago period. Revenue from operations climbed 28% to Rs 3,080 crore, up from Rs 2,410 crore, while total income reached Rs 3,144 crore.

The earnings beat was driven primarily by sharp operating leverage rather than top-line surprises alone. While total income grew more than 24%, total expenses increased just over 9% to Rs 1,964 crore. This wide gap pushed profit before tax to Rs 1,180 crore, representing a robust jump from Rs 733 crore in the prior year.

The bottom-line performance came despite a shift in foreign exchange dynamics. The company recorded a forex loss of Rs 7 crore, a stark reversal from the Rs 39 crore gain logged in the same quarter last year. Stripping out this currency headwind, the underlying operational profitability was even stronger.

Shares of Divi's Labs had already priced in significant optimism ahead of the Saturday release. The stock closed at Rs 8,056 on Friday, marking a nearly 3% daily gain, and has rallied 23% over the past month. Year-to-date gains exceed 27%, bringing the one-year return to 23% and the five-year return to 65%. The company now commands a market capitalisation of nearly Rs 2.15 lakh crore.

Alongside the results, the board appointed B Vara Prasad and J Srinivasa Rao as senior management personnel, effective August 1. The leadership additions signal a focus on deepening the executive bench as the business scales.

For investors, the core question is whether the current valuation, buoyed by a 119% three-year return, leaves room for further appreciation. The Q1 margins confirm the business is generating cash efficiently. However, sustaining this premium will require the newly expanded management team to maintain the expense discipline that defined this quarter.
