Cube Highways Trust lists at premium after Rs 5,000 crore IPO

Cube Highways Trust's 2% listing premium and heavily oversubscribed offering underscore robust investor demand for India's income-generating road infrastructure.

Cube Highways Trust made its market debut on Indian exchanges on Monday, with units trading at Rs 156.98 on the NSE and Rs 157.07 on the BSE. The pricing represents a 2% premium over the Rs 152 issue price, giving the trust an initial market capitalisation of Rs 21,045 crore. During the session, the stock touched an intraday high of Rs 158 before easing.

The listing follows a heavily oversubscribed initial public offering that raised Rs 5,000 crore between July 22 and July 24. The sale of 32.89 crore units, priced in a tight band of Rs 151 to Rs 152, drew bids exceeding nine times the available stock. This demand highlights how tightly valued operational infrastructure has become as investors hunt for stable, long-duration yields.

Underpinning the valuation is a track record of strong operational growth. For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, the trust's total income surged 38.7% year-on-year to Rs 2,922.09 crore. Profit after tax grew even faster, rising 42.3% to Rs 1,422.89 crore, driven by improved operational efficiencies and disciplined asset management.

Sponsored by Cube Highways and Infrastructure V Pte. Ltd., the trust operates as one of India's largest highway platforms. As of late March, it held 27 operational road assets spanning nearly 8,754 lane kilometres across 12 states and one union territory. The portfolio balances toll-based and annuity-based revenue streams, securing predictable cash flows under long-term concession agreements.

Looking ahead, the trust benefits from a pipeline of committed and right-of-first-offer assets from its sponsor. Chief Executive Officer Vinay C. Sekar noted the public offering ushers in a new phase for the business. "The market has spoken; now begins the quieter work of honouring that trust. We will continue to uphold the highest standards of governance, pursue sustainable growth, and deliver stable, predictable distributions while creating enduring value for our unitholders," he said.
