Rupee rises 35 paise to 95.64 against US dollar in early trade
The Indian rupee strengthened significantly against the US dollar in early trade. Lower crude oil prices and easing geopolitical tensions boosted the rupee's momentum. A weaker US dollar index and positive equity market sentiment also supported the currency. Foreign institutional investors offloaded equities worth Rs 1,688.23 crore on Monday. The Sensex and Nifty saw marginal gains in early trading sessions.
