Replenish Nutrients secures $15M for Alberta plant expansion

Canadian fertilizer producer Replenish Nutrients has secured a $15 million strategic investment and supply deal to fund a major capacity expansion in Alberta, providing the capital needed to scale production to meet rising demand.

Replenish Nutrients Holding Corp (CSE:ERTH, OTC:VVIVF, FRA:7KE) has closed a $15 million strategic investment from Spanish River Carbonatite. The transaction pairs this equity injection with a long-term supply agreement for activated limestone, a core input for the company's fertilizer products. CEO Neil Wiens noted the deal followed months of rigorous product efficacy testing to ensure a strong operational fit.

The newly secured capital is divided into two equal tranches of $7.5 million. The first tranche will finance the construction of a dedicated pellet production facility adjacent to the company's existing granulation plant in Beiseker, Alberta. Wiens highlighted that this specific site already possesses the necessary infrastructure and available land, which minimizes development friction and accelerates the build-out timeline.

The second $7.5 million tranche is strictly earmarked as working capital. These funds will support expanding inventory levels, marketing initiatives, and broader operational growth. This liquidity is critical as the company's existing granulation facility continues to ramp up production, requiring a larger cash buffer to sustain its next phase of commercial development.

Beyond the balance sheet, the transaction strengthens the company's leadership bench. Tim Close joins the organization, bringing specific experience in growing agricultural businesses. He is accompanied by Dr. David Morris, who contributes targeted expertise in scaling corporate operations, a skillset refined when he previously sold a business to a Fortune 500 company.

For market participants, the supply agreement removes a major operational risk for a scaling manufacturer. By locking in activated limestone that has already been validated to integrate smoothly with its fertilizers, Replenish Nutrients ensures its upcoming increase in pellet production will not face raw material bottlenecks.

Management reports that this operational foundation is translating into commercial momentum. "Our phone is ringing off the hook, not only on the investment side, but also on the side of people buying our product," Wiens said. He attributed the rising customer adoption directly to strong in-field performance by the company's fertilizers. Going forward, investors will likely focus on the efficient deployment of the new capital and the successful commissioning of the Beiseker expansion.
