Ripple debuts Mint platform as RLUSD stablecoin nears $1.6B
Ripple has introduced a new platform allowing institutions to mint and manage its RLUSD stablecoin, a move designed to convert the token's rapid market growth into deeper enterprise treasury and payment adoption.
Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform allowing institutions to access, mint, redeem, and manage its US dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD). The system provides enterprises with a unified interface to interact with the token via a web portal or direct application programming interface (API) integrations.
The release targets a practical barrier to corporate adoption: the need for scalable infrastructure suited for treasury departments rather than retail consumers. The availability of both a web interface and API integration means the platform can serve large asset managers requiring automated settlement systems, as well as smaller institutions managing positions manually. “Ripple Mint is built to give institutions flexible access to digital dollars through the workflows that fit their needs,” Ripple said. The company noted the platform supports manual operations and automated integrations as institutions adopt stablecoins for payments, trading and treasury activities.
Market position
RLUSD launched in December 2024 with an institutional focus, though it has since gained retail traction. In less than a year, the token has become the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization.
According to CoinGecko, the token hit an all-time high market capitalization on June 1, 2026, surpassing $1.8 billion. Around the Ripple Mint launch, the stablecoin's valuation moved from approximately $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion before settling near $1.59 billion. The brief expansion and subsequent stabilization suggests the product announcement prompted a short-term increase in capital flows, though the asset remains below its June peak.
For investors and market professionals, the platform signals a shift toward enterprise utility. By providing API access tailored for automated workflows, Ripple is building the operational groundwork necessary to sustain its top-10 ranking. The emphasis on treasury and trading integration indicates the company is attempting to anchor RLUSD in corporate finance operations, moving beyond initial token distribution.
