Intellistake takes full ownership of prediction-market tech Gravity

Intellistake Technologies has terminated a partnership to take full control of its Gravity platform, a move that frees the company to address severe liquidity bottlenecks in a rapidly growing but heavily fragmented prediction-market sector.

Intellistake Technologies has taken full ownership of Gravity, terminating a March development and platform agreement with Prospect Prediction Markets. Under the dissolved deal, the company will retain Gravity’s software, artificial intelligence models, machine-learning algorithms, interfaces and related development work. In exchange, Prospect’s two-year exclusivity period and associated revenue-sharing rights have been removed.

The strategic shift arrives as prediction markets experience a massive surge in trading activity. Combined monthly volume reached $44.8 billion in June, representing a roughly 75% increase from $25.66 billion in May. These markets now span politics, sports, financial instruments and entertainment. However, this explosive top-line growth masks severe structural inefficiencies at the individual contract level.

Data indicates that roughly 70% of closed contracts generated less than $10,000 in reported volume. Furthermore, more than 45,000 contracts recorded absolutely zero trading activity. This extreme concentration leaves the broader market plagued by thin liquidity, unreliable execution, pricing gaps and chronically one-sided order books.

Gravity was initially built to operate around Prospect’s specific platform, but it is now positioned as a modular infrastructure layer to solve these industry-wide bottlenecks. The system is engineered to identify liquidity imbalances and automatically direct incentives toward areas of weak market depth. By bolstering price discovery and execution during fast-moving conditions, the technology targets the core mechanical failures of fragmented markets.

Chief Executive Jason Dussault noted that the development process revealed a "significantly broader opportunity" for the underlying technology. Freed from the constraints of the Prospect partnership, Intellistake now plans to deploy Gravity across additional prediction markets, various contract categories, and other trading environments where liquidity and pricing remain persistent challenges.

For investors, the commercial reality remains firmly in the preliminary stages. Gravity has not yet been deployed in a live environment, and early interest from third parties has not materialized into a single licence, partnership or revenue-generating transaction. Intellistake, which currently trades at C$0.44 on the Canadian Securities Exchange, faces the significant hurdle of proving it can transition an internal build into essential third-party infrastructure that external platforms are willing to adopt.
