Bajaj Auto shares surge as record volumes drive 46% profit jump
Bajaj Auto's stock hit a 52-week high after the Indian manufacturer posted record first-quarter earnings, demonstrating that its diversified model can thrive despite broader macroeconomic disruptions.
Bajaj Auto shares jumped more than 4% to touch a 52-week high of ₹10,839.45 on Wednesday after the manufacturer posted record earnings for the quarter ended June 2026. The stock later pared some gains to trade around ₹10,526 in the afternoon session.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹3,225.63 crore, a 45.9% increase from the same period last year. Consolidated revenue surged 65% year-on-year to ₹21,688.83 crore. Standalone figures, which exclude subsidiaries, also reached all-time highs, with profit rising 42.3% to ₹2,982.84 crore from ₹2,095.98 crore a year earlier, on a 37% jump in revenue to ₹17,243.72 crore.
The significant top-line expansion was driven by record vehicle sales volumes and improved realizations. Management noted double-digit gains across both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle portfolios, as well as across domestic and export markets. "Broad-based performance underpinned by double-digit growth on all fronts sustained despite a challenging/disruptive external context and bearing testament yet again to the company's resilient and diversified business model," Bajaj Auto said.
For investors, the results validate a strategy of balancing legacy combustion products with an expanding electric lineup while leveraging a heavy export footprint. A 65% consolidated revenue jump in a single quarter is highly unusual for an established automaker, suggesting Bajaj is successfully navigating competitive pricing pressures and macroeconomic headwinds that have constrained peers.
The equity has now risen 37.5% from its 52-week low of ₹7,879.45 hit in August 2025. It has gained 6% in the past month and over 12% in three months. Over longer horizons, the stock is up 30% in the past year and has returned 180% over five years, reflecting a sustained structural re-rating by the market.
